Audi to recall 850,000 diesel vehicles to update emissions software.
Reuters (7/21, Schuetze) reported Audi announced Friday the launch of a recall of up to 850,000 diesel vehicles “to update vehicle software controlling emissions in a bid to avoid potential driving bans.” The AP (7/21, McHugh, Moulson) stated that “the free program, which will apply to Europe and other markets outside the U.S. and Canada, applies to cars with six-cylinder and eight-cylinder diesel engines,” including “Porsche and Volkswagen models with the same types of engines.”
