Mr. Mikita received a Bachelor of Science degree from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois in 1991. He attended Seton Hall University School of Law and received a Juris Doctorate degree in 1994. Mr. Mikita is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is admitted in the United States District Court, the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Civil Trial Lawyer by the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Mikita was a judicial intern to Judge Alexander J. Menza of the Superior Court of New Jersey in 1994. He was formerly in house counsel for the National Consumer Insurance Company from 1995 to 1997. Mr. Mikita is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (American Association for Justice), and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey. He was a lead member of the plaintiff’s lawyer’s group for the Pier 34 collapse in Pennsylvania that resulted in a global settlement of over $29 million.
Mr. Mikita resides in Piscataway with his wife Mary and their son and daughter. He enjoys playing basketball and is an avid Civil War enthusiast. He also plays first base in the Piscataway Ironworker’s Softball League.
Mr. Mikita joined Gill & Chamas in July of 1997 and his practice concentrates on personal injury of all types, workers compensation and criminal matters.
